September 26-28, 2014

On the centenary of the First World War, The Group of 78 and Project Ploughshares organized the conference “WWI and Contemporary Policy on War and Peace.” The conference was held at the Canadian War Museum and reflected on how we can reduce the incidence of armed conflict and reinforce the foundations of a more stable, just and peaceful world. Historians cast light on events preceding, during and following the war. Others drew attention to how our world has changed through the development of multilateral institutions and international law to assist in avoiding war and building human security.
