DESCRIPTION:Senior Researchers Jessica West and Branka Marijan will partici
 pate in this CIGI-hosted workshop examining the intersection of space secu
 rity and emerging technologies. \nAs space becomes increasingly entangled
  with emerging technologies\, such as artificial intelligence\, quantum co
 mputing\, robotics and cyber capabilities\, the international community is
  grappling with how best to govern these overlapping domains. Various UN e
 fforts on security and arms control provide an important foundation\, but 
 current diplomatic discussions often remain abstract\, leaving a gap betwe
 en principles and practice and between technology domains. This workshop a
 ims to close these gaps.\nCIGI is bringing together a select group of expe
 rts from the fields of space\, emerging technology and governance to:\n\n\
 n 	map how emerging technologies are reshaping the space domain\;\n 	ident
 ify governance challenges and opportunities\;\n 	explore implications for 
 security and deterrence strategies\; and\n 	engage in a scenario-based exe
 rcise to generate practical policy insights.\n\nOur objectives are to:\n\n
 \n 	translate foundational research into concrete governance recommendatio
 ns\;\n 	connect Canadian and allied perspectives to global efforts on spac
 e security\; and\n 	contribute recommendations to national and internation
 al discussions on space security and build bridges across diplomatic proce
 sses.\n\nA formal agenda will be shared with registrants.\nThe workshop ha
