December 1, 2014
Today, on behalf of the Governing Committee of Project Ploughshares, I have accepted the resignation of Executive Director John Siebert.
In tendering his resignation John has indicated to me that the time is right both for Ploughshares to have new leadership and for him to tackle new challenges.
On behalf of the Ploughshares Governing Committee and the nine sponsoring churches and church organizations, and together with the General Secretary of the Canadian Council of Churches, I want to thank John for his outstanding work and leadership. Since coming to Ploughshares nearly a decade ago, John has worked with an exceptional staff to fulfill our mission and to pursue our vision: “a secure world without war, a just world at peace.”
In the near future, the Ploughshares Governing Committee will begin the search for a new Executive Director. John will remain with Ploughshares, in his current role, until a new Executive Director is chosen in 2015.
Peace and goodwill,
Dr. Scott Kline
Chair, Governing Committee
