Richard McCutcheon is a PhD candidate in the Department of Anthropology at McMaster University. As Co-ordinator of Canadian Friends Service Committee he travelled to Iraq in 1991. He was Research Associate on the Health of Children in War Zones Project (1993-1995), and Assistant Professor of Conflict Resolution Studies and International Development Studies at Menno Simons College, the University of Winnipeg (1998-2000). For about eight months in 2000-2001 he and his wife, Tamara Fleming, lived in the Middle East as Mennonite Central Committee and American Friends Service Committee Co-Field Representatives for Iraq.
