In conjunction with locally based partners, Project Ploughshares co-hosted expert roundtables on an international Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) in Washington and Cape Town in early 2010. The purpose of the roundtables was to engage a range of stakeholders with expertise in conventional arms control in a review of key issues in the negotiation of an effective ATT. With the exception of the morning component of the Washington session, the roundtables were held subject to the “Chatham House” rule so that participants could be free to speak without attribution. This report conveys the results of both sessions.
